This project involved doing external rendering and renovation works on an historical manor situated just outside of Saint Malo. The original render was removed to expose and clean the stonework underneath. The existing chimney was then carefully dismantled to roof height as the structure was unsound and needed rebuilding.
We also replaced a stone little above a window on the first floor that was being effected by the chimney structure. This was a project that required a great deal of thought as to the structural weights of the property and a structural engineer and architect were consulted to ensure that the work we carried out was in accordance to the regulations in place.
Following the structural work we undertook the job of rendering the side of the new chimney so that it tied in with the rest of the building. A traditional sand, chaux, coquillage mix was used synonymous to the region. See for here more details of enduit a la chaux
The entire project was managed and carried out by Maison Bretagne. If you would like to know more about the services we offer including external rendering and renovation services, or you would like to contact us about a project you have, please contact us here< prev next >
